FreedomRegistered Name: Slews Freedom
Breed: Quarterhorse Color: Bay Gender: Mare Height: 14h 3" Sponsored by: Currently seeking sponsor Freedom was born on my farm in Michigan, and has always been the shy one. She's traveled all over the country with me, even though she's never been fond of confinement. We studied Parelli Natural Horsemanship together, and became very good partners. She's been a favorite for lots of riders and new acquaintances.

BlueBreed: Quarterhorse
Color: Blue roan Gender: Male Height: approx. 15-16 hands Sponsored by: Currently seeking sponsor Blue was given to me in 2010 by a friend of mine who had recently recovered from breast cancer. She was an avid animal lover. She did search and rescue with Blue and her dog. When he came to the property, he was 28 years old. He had been well cared for and well loved. Having worked with mostly rescued horses up to that point, it was a great experience while I watched and learned what secure attachment looks like in a horse. Blue was eager to meet the other horses on the property. He was not dominant or submissive when he met them. He just Was. He would be gentle if they needed it, or playful if that was okay, too.
I've learned so much from him. His calm disposition is relaxing and reassuring to be around. He took to the work right away. He demonstrates his interconnectedness to beings and his surroundings daily. He has what I can only call wisdom. When he shows up in the work, there is something to learn. —Barbara |

EponaBreed: Mustang
Color: Bay Gender: Mare Height: 14h 2" Sponsored by: Currently seeking sponsor Epona came to us from the Correctional Facility in Florence, Arizona, where she was lovingly trained to accept human companionship and learn riding skills. She was originally from a herd that was living in Salt River, Utah. Formerly called 'Shawnee', she earned the name 'Epona' after the Celtic goddess who was the protector of mares and foals. Even though she's had to adapt to an entirely different lifestyle, she is seeking to trust and is proving to be a very tender-hearted and welcome addition to the herd.

BrownBreed: AQHA
Color: Brown Gender: male Height: 16 hands Brown joins us from Barbara Rector’s herd of amazing horses that she has worked with through Adventures In Awareness. Some of you might already know Brown from those trainings and experiences. Brown is originally from Duluth, MN and became part of Barbara’s when he turned eleven. Barbara has referred to him as one of her her Heart Horses. She describes him in this way; “He is a seasoned communicator with horses and people - especially those engaged in learning more about themselves as they learn to work safely with a large horse.” In January, he was Lovingly brought to Equinimity to see if he would be a fit to live amongst a new herd. In getting to know Brown, we have learned that he likes heart hugs, enjoys contact and being groomed, is curious about the goings on around with people and tends to observe first before coming over. He has bonded with the herd and leans heavily on the fence panels after he is done eating his mash - yearning to get back to the herd asap. It is an honor and a joy to welcome Brown. Funding for Brown was provided by an anonymous fund held at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. We are so grateful. |
